This system was for a fishing lodge/logging camp located in Northern BC. The lodge is generally accessible by water and air only. The new system was installed to replace a patchwork of “original” systems that were not adequately servicing the buildings on the site.
The new septic system is a Type 2 treatment system discharging to a large seepage bed disposal field. A separate grease tank was installed to service the high-strength waste coming from the kitchen. This grease tank discharge combines with the sanitary waste from the rest of the lodge in a new concrete trash tank. The waste then flows through a new treatment plant and dosing chamber equipped with duplex effluent pumps. A flow indexing valve distributes effluent to six separate piping zones within the new seepage bed septic field.
Cleartech completed percolation testing and soil test pits at the seepage bed location, prepared the detailed design of the septic system, and filed the system with the Northern Health Authority. We worked with owner to find a suitable installation crew, and were present for the system installation. The system is currently in the commissioning stage and will be signed off with the Northern Health Authority later in the spring of 2016.
