This project is a repair for a single family residence and a secondary one bedroom suite. The original disposal field was placed on an easement area on the adjacent property as there was not suitable area on the subject lot. The new mound was placed within the easement in the area of the original gravity trench system. The failed original field materials and biomat were removed and infilled with engineered fill prior to the construction of the new sand mound. The disposal field area was substantially lower in elevation that the residence, making the application of a floating outlet “Flout” device to dose the pressure distribution network feasible.
The sewage treatment was completed via the existing septic tank followed by a new two chamber septic/dosing tank. The flouting outlet discharges a specified volume of effluent down to the sand mound to pressurize the piping network, without the need for an effluent pump or control panel.
Cleartech completed site assessment to evaluate the existing system failure as well as permeameter/ percolation testing and soils evaluation for the placement of the replacement field. Cleartech completed the detailed design of the septic system, filed the Record of Sewerage System and Letter of Certification with the Interior Health Authority and reviewed the system during construction. The satisfied homeowner was provided with a comprehensive maintenance package upon completion of the project.
